Featured storytellers Amanda Turner, Eric Schuler and Erin Cunningham rehash the finer points of flops with true stories on the theme, told live on stage and without notes. All followed by an open story slam.
Limited priority seating tickets are now on sale for $7, available for pick up at will call on show night starting at 6 pm. Priority seating tickets ensure a sure shot at a seat until first-come, first-served open game tickets go on sale for $5 at 6:30 pm. Showtime is at 7 pm. Pie Hole pizza and a full bar (with valid I.D.) are available at the all-ages venue.
In the first act, Turner fails to pass the sniff test. Schuler crashes Wall Street style in a video gaming bubble. Cunningham falls for a circus performer, failing to notice the red flags. The featured storytellers receive prizes from Bittercreek/Red Feather, Boise Co-Op, Bricolage and Story Story Night.
After an intermission with live music, an open story slam starts. In the story slam, names are drawn from a hat, and the chosen few have 5 minutes to tell a true story on the theme. The featured storytellers choose a winner, who receives a prize package from Boise Guest House and Rediscovered Books.
All storytellers also get a custom FAiL poster designed and illustrated by Neighborhood All-Stars.
“To fail is to live. Fortunately for our egos, each flop makes up for itself by making for a funny and fantastic story, with plenty of hot faced glory,” says Jessica Holmes, the host and driving force behind Story Story Night. “Bombs away.”
