Speak to the Real Drives of Hunger and Appetites
This September 24 at Story Story Night, it’s a feast for your soul with the theme, CONSUMED: Stories of Hunger and Appetites. Because sometimes, real life devours you. Hungry passions eat at you, until you transform your whole life to sate your palate. Or a craving takes control and eats you up in ways you least expected.
CONSUMED is a theme ripe for your story. Now is the time for you to step up to the plate as a Featured Storyteller. Every month—with an open submission and anonymous selection process—Story Story Night selects 3 brave-hearted souls to share their taste-making 10 to 15 minutes stories on the theme. It’s an exhilarating and life-affirming experience, and comes with personal Studio support and special sauce prizes.
In the featured storyteller spot, Story Story Night is looking for real voices, real souls, and real life-changing experiences. Share the (many, likely) surprising and revelatory moments that made you, you. We’ve made it easy with 3 quick questions in our What's Your Story? form—or just let the words roll and tell us what you’d like to say on stage. Just send your story to story@storystorynight.com. For CONSUMED, please pitch your story idea by the extended deadline of Friday, September 7.
We can also
help you find your story—or guide you on your storied journey. Join us at our free and fun Story Story
Studio in the Union Block executive center on September 17 and the third Monday of every month,
starting at 7 pm, and plan ahead for PiCKLE, FORK, and future shows.
Inspiration bites for the theme CONSUMED:
» From the radio show by our inspiration program, The Moth: listen in to the first "Moth Eaten" episode, with fantastic hunger and passion and appetites stories from Adam Gopnik, David Chang, and Lisa Lampanelli.
» From Story Story Night's November 2011 show, FULL PLATE: Stories of Biting Off More Than You Can Chew: tune in to featured storyteller Chris Harrington, as he hungers for a way out of a hiking trek.
