(BOISE, ID) To celebrate the end of days in 2012, on Monday, December 31, Story Story Night hosts APOCALYPSE: A New Year Party to End the World as We Know It. Held all night long at the Rose Room, located at 718 W. Idaho St. in downtown Boise, the APOCALYPSE party showcases stories with a beat, live music, DJs, burlesque dancers, film mixing, and more all centered on the theme of ending with a total blast.
Advance tickets are on sale now for $15 at www.storystorynight.bigcartel.com, available for pick up on show night. Door tickets will be available for $20. A hand stamp for ticketholders will allow reentry to the event throughout the night. Doors open at 7 pm.
The night kicks off with the atmospheric sound stylings of Stardust Lounge. At 8 pm, apocalypse-themed storytelling begins, featuring Dan Costello, Brent Mathieu and Raleigh Arnold. Ophidia Dance Studio burlesque performers open the storytelling portion of the evening.
Starting at 10 pm, the APOCALYPSE continues with live music from Dan Costello and the Truck Stop Orchestra. Soon after, film VJ Jason Willford starts up visual projections that fit the theme, the vibe, and the rhythm. After the ball drops at midnight, DJ Psycache drops the beat to continue the dance party into 2013.
“When it all goes down, this APOCALYPSE will be an absolute revelation. A real party riot. So celebrate end times, come on,” says Jessica Holmes, the driving force behind Story Story Night. “Go out with a bang this New Year’s Eve, and be here when it all blows up.”
Story Story Night will also be a part of MODERN RESOLUTIONS, a pop-up shop and art event held at the Modern Hotel and Bar the Friday and Saturday before New Year’s Eve on December 28 and 29 from 5 to 10 pm. In one hotel room, Story Story Night will be recording true stories from visitors on the themes “Apocalypse Now” or “Resolutions Past.” Select stories will air through Story Story Night and the Modern Hotel, and may even be broadcast at the APOCALYPSE.
