Sept. 24: SLAMMER of the YEAR lays story track

On Tues. Sept. 24, all aboard for our ultimate destination: Slammer of the Year. At this grand finale special event held at the Boise Depot, the best story slammers from each show of the forgoing Story Story Night flagship and Late-Night seasons lay some serious storytelling track.

Each slammer goes full steam ahead with a five-minute story on the theme RUNAWAY TRAiN. During an extended break, crowd votes fuel one team to pick up steam and move forward to the last stop. The selected few then tell a speed round story on the theme LAST SPiKE. At the end of the line, the best-of-the-best storyteller wins the coveted title of Slammer of the Year.

Doors open at 6pm, so get there early to enjoy the music from the Lonesome Jetboat Ramblers. They are preparing a special set of songs about trains.

You’ll be able to grab some grub from the Umami Avenue Food Truck and the bar is being stocked with beer from Lost Grove Brewery, the original “farm to can premium cocktails” from Boozie, and wine. Plus, this is the first year where the proceeds from bar sales will go to support Story Story Night’s upcoming season!

Please bring your ID if you would like to purchase beer or wine. We will be checking everyone to receive a wrist band for bar purchases.

PARKING

There are parking spaces along Eastover Terrace. Overflow parking is on the north side of the the railroad tracks off Ruby St. We will have volunteers to direct you.
